The unit will agitate and drains but it will not go in to spin

Remove the agitator and inspect the washer hub nut and basket assembly. Sometimes they rust out and become partially disconnected.

This is most likely the pressure switch hose being clogged or a bad lid switch. In some cases it may be the pressure switch itself or the motor. I have attached a video of clearing the pressure tube. (if clogged it is recommended to replace it). I also attached a GE/Hotpoint motor error code video.

So the unit will only spin if the tub is empty of clothing. I’ve tried to stop it by hand and it’s stop’s spinning. What do you 5hink the issue may be. If it only spins on an empty tub. Thanks

Check for a worn belt. The belt could be slipping. Also, check your motor and transmission pulleys. They could be loose or damaged. If none of those are the issue make sure the basket is not loose from the transmission shaft.
