The drum will spin by itself, but can easily be stopped. It will not spin clothes dry on heavier loads and medium loads. What would be causing it to spin but not spin clothes dry? I would think this is a thrust bearing but it looks like it does not have one.

Hello ,
Its most likely the spin bearing. It’s attached to the center of the outer tub and the unit needs to complete dismantled.
