Had the customer defrost the unit to get the cover off, looks like a conductor in the drain might solve my problem. Do you guys do this often? Is there a part replacement I’m missing? Hoping I didn’t overlook anything, but seems like the backed up and frozen drain was the main issue.
Frozen drains are actually the root of a lot of problems we see, typically the noise the customer hears is the fan hitting the built up ice around the evaporator. A conductor is a good way to keep that ice from returning, but occassionally there are other issues. Normally we do a conductor and have the customer monitor. If it happens again it won’t take long and you can further investigate from there. Hope this helps!
