Complaint was Icemaker overfills and puts water into ice bucket. This is an older refrigerator and the valve was letting very little water into the icemaker and froze the fill cup.
I changed the valve and and ensured the icemaker filled correctly before leaving.
About two weeks later, the customer called with the same problem. I adjusted the water level on the icemaker and tested it again. Again no problem.
A short time later it does it again. I changed the icemaker.
It’s been about 2 weeks now and the customer called and said it started again.
The coil has normal frost and does not appear to have a defrost problem. And I never find a cube stuck.
Any suggestions?

Have you checked the water pressure from the water saddle valve to the inlet valve ? If you have lime and calcium deposits at the saddle valve it will cause low water pressure and overfill ice maker problems. I would remove the ice maker and dump out all ice and water , then force the ice maker into a harvest cycle. Let the ice maker fill, it should fill for 2.6 to 2.9 seconds and have approximately .5 inches of water across the complete tray evenly. If the ice maker is partially full I would replace the saddle valve. Let us know if this helped . Matt Ace technician
