I have a customer that has Viking appliances that are not operating. Here’s the oven. The ignitor lights up, but no gas comes out. I believe it’s the oven ignitor. It glows Amber in color, not white. But, I have NEVER seen a Viking appliance before today. So, please help me out ASAP.

What have you tried so far?

I checked the stove for proper ignition, but the ignitor glows Amber in color.
The fridge, I couldn’t pull it out of the cavity to check it. I’m not even sure how to pull it out? Do you know if they screw or somehow attach them to the cabinet casing? Please Help. Or stear me to some videos that can.
Thank you

Hi. This sounds like a weak igniter and is very common. The igniter will get weak over time. IT will come on and glow but no gas will come out. The igniter has to draw enough amps to open the gas valve and when an igniter gets weak it does not draw enough amps and then you do not get any gas to ignite. Does the unit still broil? The broil is usually a separate igniter and burn tube. IF so this is a good indicating that the issue is the bake igniter and not a gas valve or other issue. I have attached a video that shows you a weak igniter.

Thank you Brian. I know how to change out ignitors on stoves, but the Viking is a totally new BEAST. I couldn’t find a way to get to it. I guess you don’t have any Viking ignitor replacement videos? Thank you
