I have a frigidaire refrigerator that I’m working, at first it was completely dead. Since I’ve been working on it I have changed out the mother board, the temperature control board, the thermostat, and start device and capacitor. Now I have power going through the unit. The compressor turns on the condenser fan runs and I see a reading on the temperature display. The down fall is after 10 seconds the lights in the fridge start flashing and around 40-50 seconds the compressor shuts off. What could be the cause of this? The only 3 things I haven’t replaced is the thermistor compressor and evap fan.

Hello
When you say the refrigerant stops at the thermostat , are you referring to the defrost thermostat in the parts link below on page #12 picture number #21 ? It is round and has two wires going to it? If so that only controls the defrost heater and has nothing to do with the compressor. The sensor on the evaporator can cycle the compressor. I would replace the Sensor Part # 240597203.This could be your issue , here is a link if you want to order it. https://www.savemoreonparts.com/part/wci/240597203

Hello
When the compressor is shutting off are you getting power to the the starting components that powers the compressor ? If you have 115 Volts at the compressor starting components and the compressor is not running, that means you have a locked up compressor. The compressor would need to be replaced. See manual links below along with the wiring diagram. Matt Ace technician

The compressor runs for the short amount of time, but I can feel the freon move up the evap coil in the freezer and it stops right at the thermostat. I can see everything working besides the evap fan within that 40-50 second window.

Are you still getting power to the compressor when it shuts off? will it turn back on after awhile? What is the amp draw of the compressor when it does run?
-
No once it shuts down there is no power going to the compressor. I unplugged the start device and took the voltage reading it was 120volts until it hits around 40-50 seconds then I loose power. The lights in the fridge still on however and I can still see the temp readings on the display board. Just running out of ideas on what it could be. I also ohmed out the thermistor and it was OL I’m sure at room temperature I should see some kind of resistance.

Yes, you should resistance for that thermistor at any temperature. So, you either have a thermistor or wiring issue
