Hello
I would start with the water supply. Have you forced the ice maker through the harvest cycle ? You can then see if you are getting the proper water amount through the saddle and inlet valve. Go to page #91 in the manual link below for complete ice maker testing. Matt Ace technician

If I’m honest I don’t know what a harvest cycle is. I did push the test button And water did fill the tray.

The harvest mode is when the ice maker goes through a complete cycle. Go to page #91 in the manual link below for complete ice maker testing.

It feels like the whole compartment where the ice is made isn’t cooling properly would that be the reason why it’s not calling for water to go into the Icemaker?
-
Yes, you need to have proper temperatures in the compartment for the ice maker to cycle. The ice maker has a thermostat that closes at +5 degrees to cycle the ice maker. This verify the cubes are frozen before cycling . You will need to go through the diagnostics to see why the ice compartment is not at the correct temperature.

so the temp is good in the ice maker and it works and makes ice only when you push the test button. can you give me your best guess on what going on?
