Is there a way to run a diagnostic test on this unit? The Tech sheet is very basic wiring diagram only. I need to verify if I am on the right track.
I defrosted the evaporator and checked the heater and defrost t-stat. Both were good. All gaskets are good. According to the diagram it must be the main electronic control. Does this sound right? Is there a way to put it in a defrost test?

Hi. I am unable to find any technical info on this unit. Usually if there is a diagnostic mode it will be listed on the tech sheet. This does not seem like a unit that would have the capability of diagnostics or fault codes. It may have a manual defrost mode, but if so, it should have the information on the tech sheet. I do not see a defrost timer or a separate defrost control, so the main control must control the defrost on this one. I would have diagnosed this unit the same way, by process of elimination. IT is how I diagnose most of my defrost issues. IF your sure its not defrosting and the defrost T-stat and heater test good, then you must have a faulty control. It is the only part left (other than a wiring issue which would not be common). Check to see if it has a defrost sensor. It is a thermistor that will be attached to the top of the evaporator line. This would be the only other part that could be faulty. It does not show one in the diagram.
