This one has me stumped. Machine is giving E21 “Water not pumping out fast enough” error. Starts by pumping out at a trickle and occasionally will “kick in” to full flow. Pump sounds like its sucking air/air locked. Will drain properly every 4th or 5th attempt. Removed and checked all hoses, found all to be clear. Removed tub-to-pump boot and looked up with mirror to bottom of tub and could see the inner tub with no obstructions. Tried running pump directly with test cord to rule out low current from main board and tried new pump with same results. Any Electrolux experts out there with suggestions? Greatly appreciate any help

I would start looking at the that spinner, occasionally occluding the drain port.

While you hade the boot hose off, did you check under and around item #40 ?

  • Yes, I checked the strainer #40 (it was clean) and tried running it with and without it in place. Same results.
  • Thought I would report back in case anyone runs into this problem. After spending way too much time on what should have been a slam dunk call, replacing the tub-to-pump hose solved an E21 “taking too long to drain error”. The original problem was the pump would start pumping out at a trickle and occasionally (every 5th or 6th attempt) ramp up and pump out normally. I inspected the coin trap, tub-to-pump hose, drain pump and drain hose and found all to be in surprisingly clean and good condition. I replaced the pump anyway since nothing else made sense but the problem persisted. I was running the pump directly with a test cord to eliminate a low voltage/low current problem with the main board. After running out of ideas and patience, I picked up and replaced the tub-to-pump hose and reinstalled the original pump and all is well. Totally illogical as there didn’t appear to be anything wrong with the hose. You just cant overthink the basics. Thanks for all of your help
  • Im glad you got it figured out!! That is a weird one. I would have done the same thing. You ruled everything out. That hose must have been getting pinched closed with the pressure of the drain pump running. Strange.
