Freezer was not cool enough interface shows a bad freezer sensor replace sensor interface still shows bad sensor tryed to put into diagonstic the whole face went blank and lights inside fresh food side and freezer went out and will not come back on. Unpluged it several times waited 2-3 minutes still will not reset are come on. Replaced boards and still nothing. it’s been about a week now.

Hi. That’s strange that the unit did that after trying to put into a diagnostic mode. I have attached the service manual for you. Make sure you are getting proper voltage to the unit. My thought would be a bad main board as well, then maybe a bad User interface if the main board did not work. Have you replaced the main board and U.I.? Replacing the main board would reset anything strange that happened while trying to enter diagnostics also, so that still does not make any sense as to why the unit still will not come back on for you. There could be some electrical short somewhere in the unit. That’s a weird one.

  • Thank You Could it be possible that some one else could have put the wrong main board in there and it run for a short while ? I’ve pulled up the board that should be in this unit but the one in there is built different and looks nothing like the right one. There were hook ups for all the wires but the customer said it only worked right for about a week are so.
  • It could be possible that someone installed the wrong board. The control board’s can be very similar. I would not think that it would have lasted as long as it did with the wrong board but I guess it’s possible. It does sound like a bad control board again. I would put a surge protector on the outlet to protect the board from any electrical spikes or drops. Something could be shorting out the board from inside the refrigerator but I would think it would have happened much sooner than a week.
