Is there a seal on the mode shifter that can let water leak through it and come out at the nut on the bottom of the main drive pulley

What have you tried so far?
There is an abundance of evidence of water having leaked out of the bottom of the main pulley(not the tub seal). I filled the washer and see water coming out at the bottom of the pulley.
