This is a commercial GE Dryer with a Factory coin-op installed. The unit goes down to the one minute mark and keeps running. Never shuts off. There was a problem years ago similar to this on some Whirlpool timers that has faulty resister on the timer. But I don’t know if the GE’s timers ever had a resister. The door switch is okay. Any ideas?

Thank you,

You could very well have a timer issue, but first check the dual coil heating element in the back of the dryer. it is very common for one coil to break and would cause the dryer to heat but not hot enough to satisfy the cycling thermostat causing dryer to continue running. Also be absolutely sure venting is not restricted as it would cause the same symptom. If both element coils are good and the venting is not an issue then the timer would most likely need replacement.
