I checked for continuity on the water inlet valve. None. Then I checked the continuity on the ice maker itself. None.
If there is no continuity on the ice maker, does that mean that it’s no good? I was told by another tech, that you really can’t tell if the ice maker is good or bad by testing the continuity.
Now I’m confused??

Hello
Look at the links below for testing the ice maker. You need to test voltages not continuity. If you have a meter you can test all of the components including the inlet valve from the icemake test points. See the ice maker diagnostics link below. Matt Ace technician
TEST POINTS AT ICE MAKER
L – N MODULE POWER SHOULD HAVE 115 VOLTS
T – H BIMETAL OPEN CLOSED
L – H HEATER ON
L – M MOTOR ON
N – V WATER VALVE ON
