The issue started with ice buildup on the bottom of the freezer. After watching your videos, I was able to correct this issue and had to unclog/defrost the drain line and replace the evaporator fan motor. During the repair, I’ve noticed that the light in the freezer does not always come on or go off when it should; it flickers intermittently. Also, the alarm continually goes off. I’ve also noticed that when I press upwards on the area where the light switch is in the freezer, the evaporator fan comes on. I believe that this is due to a short, but I am not sure how to access this area of the fridge, as I can see now way to enter into the covering. Please help!
For this issue, nothing, as I cannot access the area “behind” the switch. Prior to this, however, I have unclogged and defrosted the drain line and replaced the evaporator fan motor. I am also currently replacing the water inlet valve to correct a water dispenser issue, but I believe that this issue is not related to that repair.

It sounds like you have a defective light switch that is also controlling your evaporator fan motor. If your light is staying on it will also cause warm above normal temperatures in the freezer. Warm freezer temperatures will cause the temperature alarm to go off. I have provided a parts breakdown of your appliance along with a video of how to replace your switch and a link to the switch and part number you need below. I hope this resolves your issue. Thanks, Matt. The video is not the same model as my fridge, however. My light switch is located on the top of the freezer compartment and appears to be triggered by a somewhat shaped egg tab on the freezer door. I could send an image if needed – for clarification. I cannot determine how to remove the light switch either. Is there any chance you could call? Lastly, the light does not appear to be staying on in the freezer…as a matter of fact, the freezer is working very well, but the evaporator fan does not seem to be coming on regularly – the fresh food section of the fridge is not as cold as it is normally.

The switch looks to be a dual function switch. When you close the door it makes a contact for the evaporator fan motor to come on. When you open the door it shuts the fan off and turns on your light. If your evaporator fan motor is not running due to that switch being bad you will NOT cool properly in the refrigerator section. The evaporator motor moved air across the evaporator through an air damper to keep your refrigerator section at 38-42 degrees. Does your refrigerator look like this link below?
