HI GUYS. THE ICE MAKER TRAY IS STUCK IN THE UPSIDE DOWN POSITION. THIS UNIT DOES NOT HAVE A RAKE, IT HAS A TRAY THAT INVERTS AND TWISTS FOR THE HARVEST. I REMOVED THE ICE MAKER AND CHECKED THE VOLTAGE FROM TAB TO TAB AT THE ON/OFF SWITCH AND IT WAS LIKE 12 VOLTS THEN DROPPED TO ZERO. SHOULD I BE CHECKING ONE TAB TO GROUND? I SAW ONE VIDEO ON YOUTUBE AND SOMEONE COMMENTED THAT THESE ICE MAKERS HAVE ALOT OF TROUBLE. ANY INFO IN ANY DIRECTION WOULD BE GREAT. THANKS, TODD FROM NY.

Hi. This ice maker should have a test button. Looks like it is on the bottom left of the head of the ice maker. What happens when you press the and hold the test button? Is there something mechanical holding the ice try from rotating? Theses ice makers are very common to break. Sorry I do not have a tech sheet for this unit. Make sure the door switches are working properly. Try the test button. I would suspect the ice maker. p # AEQ73110203

    GOOD MORNING BRIAN. I DID TAKE THE TRAY OUT. IT WAS VERY TWISTED AND I ASSUMED IT WAS CAUGHT. I DID FIND A VIDEO AND THE TRAY WILL TWIST TO HAVEST. I DID REPLACE THE TRAY WITH NO TWIST AND PUSHED THE TEST BUTTON, BUT NOTHING HAPPENED.
  • Press and hold the test button for 10 seconds if you have not already. These will not start a cycle unless you hold the test button. Also, if that does not work try unplugging the unit for a couple of mins to reset it. Plug it back in and try again. IT may start on its own after the reset. It may also give some error codes as well after the reset. With out a tech sheet it may be hard to diagnose weather its the ice maker or something else. I would start by replacing the ice maker if the above steps do not give us any more information.

    GOOD MORNING BRIAN. I DID GO BACK AND I FOUND THE ICE MAKER IS RECEIVING 110V. I DISASSEMBLED THE ENTIRE ICE MAKER MOTOR ASSEMBLY AND HOOKED IT BACK UP AND IT DID ROTATE, BUT IT NEVER RETURNED AND JUST STARTED TO BIND THE MOTOR. I THINK THIS NOT RETURNING COULD BE THE PROBLEM WITHIN THE ICE MAKER. DOES THIS SOUND RIGHT? I TOLD THE CUSTOMER TO BY A NEW ICE MAKER UNIT.
  • Yes, it appears the issue is with in the ice maker. I believe you have it diagnosed correctly
