Ice maker is making very little ice. On/off arm is moving slightly up & down and making a noise from the movement. Really irritating!
Taken ice try out. Taken square cover off and see the 2 wheels with teeth continuing to roll together, but before even the smaller wheel can go full circle it “skips’ from the teeth. hence the on/off arm going up/down and making the noise. There’s water in the ice tray to be made, just the noise and “wheels” skipping. How do I proceed to correct?
Have owners manual, but not much help.

Hello
It sounds like the ice maker gears are stripped from your explanation. If you take off the cover and turn the main drive gear clockwise, it will force the unit into the harvest cycle. See the service manual link below to see the ice maker diagnostics. I have also provided a parts breakdown. Our parts department part number is 1-800-830-5465.

Do you have a video of this process? I have the square cover off the main housing and see 2 plastic gears that are skipping. Can I send you a picture/video of what it’s doing?

If the gears are skipping, you need a new ice maker. Sometimes you can get new gears. In most cases if the ice maker is over 5- years old it is advisable to replace it. I would call our parts department with your model number and get a part number of the ice maker. Then shop online for the best price with shipping. Watch out for Amazon after market ice makers, they have great prices but do not hold up. Get the OEM from the Electrolux. That is the exact replacement part designed for your refrigerator.
