GOOD AFTERNOON. I CHECKED OUT THE UNIT AND FOUND THE WATER DISPENSER WORKING, BUT NO WATER FLOWING INTO THE ICE TRAY. I SAW THE TINES IN THE ICE TRAY MOVE AND THE METAL ARM RISE AND DROP. I PULLED THE WATER LINE AND THE WATER PRESSURE WAS A LITTLE WEAK NOT TO BAD. I TESTED ALL THE SOLINOIDS ON THE WATER INLET VALVE AND GOT SOME OHMS ON EACH, BUT WHEN I CHECKED FOR VOLTAGE, THERE WAS 110 AT THE WHITE AND YELLOW, BUT LOW VOLTS AT THE GREEN. AFTER ALL THIS I LOOKED AT THE ICE MAKER AGAIN AND THE TINES WERE ROTATING AND THE ARM ROSE AND DROPPED AGAIN. I DO HAVE BOTH THE WATER INLET VALVE AND THE ICE MAKER IN MY HAND. COULD BOTH PIECES BE BAD? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT, THANKS. TODD FROM NY.

Hi. You could have a bad inlet valve, ice maker, or clogged line/fill tube. The fill tubes are common to get clogged with ice. Check this first. Find the inlet valve for the ice maker and put your meter leads on it with the wires still hooked up. Then run the ice maker through a test cycles and monitor the voltage on your meter. IT should read 0V until it reaches near the end of the cycle where it will call for water. This lasts about 7 seconds. This will tell you if the ice maker is sending voltage to the inlet valve. IF so and there is not a clog, or poor water pressure you have a bad inlet valve. IF no voltage from ice maker then you have a bad ice maker. You could also take the water line out of the ice maker inlet valve and place something under it to collect the water. Run it through a test cycle and see if you get any water coming out of the valve. Typically if you listen closely or are near the valve you can hear it turn on when it gets energized by the ice maker. It will hum if voltage is present.

Yes I would say at that point it sounds like it is a faulty ice maker as long as you have water going to the inlet valve.

GOOD MORNING BRIAN. I WENT BACK TO THE FRIDGE AND TURNED THE RAKE AND THE ICE MAKER STARTED TO CYCLE. I DID GET 110 V TO THE ICE MAKER SOLINOID FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS. I ALSO BLEW THROUGH THE LINES AND THE LINE TO THE ICE MACHINE WAS VERY CLEAR, BUT THE OTHERS WERE CLEAR BUT IT TOOK MORE AIR PRESSURE TO MOVE THE RESIDUAL WATER THROUGH THE LINES. I BELIEVE THAT WOULD BE CAUSED BY THE FILTER. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT, THANKS.

Well if you cycled the ice maker and it sent 120v to the inlet valve, the ice maker is working correctly. Did you have water turned when u cycled the ice maker? Did the ice maker fill? Check that you have water to the inlet valve. If we have good water pressure up to the inlet valve and we apply 120 to the valve and we get no water coming through, we have a bad inlet valve. If you can manually cycle the ice maker and it fills, but will not cycle on its own, we have a bad ice maker.

GOOD MORNING BRIAN. I WENT BACK AND PUT EVERYTHING BACK TOGETHER AND PUSHED THE RAKE TO START THE CYCLE. IT STARTED TO PRODUCE ICE AND HAS BEEN WORKING FINE EVERY SINCE. I THINK MY DIAGNOSTICS WERE DONE OUT OF ORDER. I THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR TIME AND INFO, TODD FROM NY.
