I replaced the water inlet valve and the dual inlet valves due to the failed continuity readings (I actually measured the wrong switch, so I have an extra valve now grrr).
I waited over a week and still no ice. I also felt no water in the tray, so I thought the ice maker water line was clogged. Checked that by blowing air through it and it was clear (still no ice).
Put the fridge in diagnostics and ran the ice maker through a cycle and it ran fine up until it needed water. The service test 25 never showed a Digit 1 other than 0. Tested voltage to the solenoid and nothing there. The door water valve gave 122v.

Now I am at a loss to determine if it is;
-the wiring harness
-the ice maker
-control board.

I thought it would be worth the $25 to ask you how to go about testing for which of the above it could be.

Thanks for your help,

Tom

Hi. You are missing the last 2 digits of your model number. I find the issue is most likely with your ice maker. Wire harness is not common. I have replaced many of these ice makers and only a couple of the boards for this issue. When I have had a bad board it was causing the ice maker to not operate at all. Put your meter leads on your ice maker water valve and cycle the ice maker. Look at your meter as the ice maker runs through the cycle and see if it sends 120v to the valve at the point it should be filling with water. I am looking at the tech sheet on here and it is hard to see. From what I can tell the control board sends power to the ice maker and then the ice maker sends power to the valve to fill. SO your issue would most likely be in the ice maker. Let me know if you need any further assistance after your tests. Also, I have attached our repair videos for this ice maker for you to take a look at.

    Brian, Thanks for the reply. I did run the ice maker through the cycle with the volt meter on the valve to fill (no voltage). I have a replacement ice maker on the way, should be here Monday. I’ll let you know if it works. Tom
  • Sounds good. Good luck and please let me know! Are you familiar on how to replace the ice maker? In the link I provided we have a couple of videos on replacing this ice maker.
