Customer issue was ice maker in refri section was froze up, so he took a hair dryer to melt the ice, after finsh there a funny smell and refri stop cooling, on my arrival check the icemaker section their is a bad odor plus a sound like water siphon. Check the rest of the refri everything seem normal, but no coolng compressor amp draw one point 1.75, but the discharge line a little warm, suction cold, my thought low charge.Will be going back tomorrow, does anyone have information on this one. thanks in advance

If the defrost sensor is open, the coils will frost up. A blocked drain will also cause this. The system is probably not low on refrigerant with that amp draw, but this is something you must see by looking at the frost pattern yourself after the unit has been running for 10 minutes on a clear evaporator. This ice maker had a loop of the coolant line running through it. If the customer was chipping away at the ice or removed the ice maker improperly, they may have also damaged that refrigerant line.
