I have a GE refrig model: PFSF5RKZAWW that is Dead, no display, no interior lights, no fans, no compressor.
He verified 120 v through emi filter to the main board and inverter but unit will not fire up. Pulled individual harnesses to see if something may have been shorting low voltage but no change. He did change main board and user interface with same results.

If it does have 120VAC from EMI filter (I have had them go bad) to the mother board I would start unplugging the J-Plugs one at a time to,see if something comes alive. You mentioned you’ve had EMI filters go bad. The manual does not mention testing the filter, only that some models have one. I did pull J-Plugs to check for shorted components (fans, etc) but found nothing. A failed EMI filter would explain why interior lights are also not working. Have you seen a partial EMI failure with this device? The test for the EMI filter is proper 120VAC out when under load. You can have 120VAC without load that disappears when load is applied. Most EMI filters are just a choke coil in series and a capacitor
in parallel. They just keep the power clean to the board. With power on check the board at tab4 (brown lead) and J7-9 (orange) for power into the board. Then start unplugging board wires and reenergize after each disconnect.
If you unplug one and get some action that circuit is your culprit. I have not seen EMI failures on the refrigerators yet.
