LG dishwasher will intermittently show a drain error code. When this happens the machine will just sit and do nothing. If restarted it will run the cycle.
Checked the drain for clogs (did not remove the pump). Dishwasher is really clean; the home owner rinses dishes before putting them in dishwasher. I tried running the test mode, but machine wouldn’t go into test mode. It’s like the buttons would not work. Using the same buttons to set wash a cycle they work fine. I ran rinse cycles until the machine threw it’s tantrum and the pump sounded funny to me.

Models with 1 LED : OPERATING (Flickering) / CLEAN
If you have an intermittent wash pump motor issues there is A few things to check.
1) Make sure the door is closed properly.
2) Check the door switch in latch handle.
3) Check wiring connections to the wash motor.
4) Make sure there are no restrictions in the pump blade. Some times you can have floating restrictions that will come and go.
5) Replace the pump, could have A weak motor causing intermittent issues.
