The water valve for this refrigerator is leaking. The problem is that the valve LG is saying that it needs is a MJX41178908, the mounting is perfect but this valve is a single solenoid valve. The original vale is a dual solenoid valve but they give no instructions to convert. I wanted to see if you have run into something like this before, get advice, or see if there is any instructions on this. There is another valve MJX41869202. THe valve that is in there is way different than both. Amy advice or research would be greatly appreciated.

I found a video for this valve. you have to separate the valve from the valve body. Attached is the video.

Hi. Your model number is not complete. Is shows 2 different options. Either a” /00″ or “/01” at the end of the model number. IF none listed it you would typically assume an /00 I found part # MJX41869201 for model ending in LFX25980ST/00. This is a dual valve located in the left refrigerator door. There is a panel at the bottom on the inside to remove to get to the valve.

The MJX41869201 converts to the MJX41969202 that is not the correct valve. DIfferent mounting, different fittings.

Okay. Now I see the part number subs to the new one ending in 202. Looking at a picture of this part, I see it shows this is a dual valve. This valve is still different from the original dual valve in the unit? This is the valve in the door right?

The valve I am referring to is on the back of the unit. The current valve is almost identical to the MJX41178908 but it’s a single when it is supposed to be a dual. The dual valve in the door is very different. Different fittings and mounting.
