I’m ordering the part from your parts dept. right now. But I’m concerned that I won’t be able to properly clean out the drain.
The repair guy I hired 3 years ago, when we first had this problem simply removed the drain check valve (grommet) – and put nothing in its place. Well now my freezer’s all iced up on the bottom and the drain must have clogged again.
I will thaw it out and shoot hot water in there, but I’m concerned that I won’t be able to properly clean the drain. Should I snake a wire up from the back (where the grommet used to be)?
I haven’t taken the freezer apart myself – so maybe there’s a way for me to see the drain and clean it from the freezer compartment. But from the video, I didn’t really see that.
Any advice? I would really appreciate it!!

remove evaporator cover use a turkey baister with hot water press baister into drain hole and repeatatly squeeze hot water into drain hole till the water flushes through without resistance you can then take a piece of coat hanger or solid wire wrap 1 end around defrost heater and insert other end into drain hole so it does not freeze up on you again
