Hello Technicians Thank you in advance for your help.
This General Electric side by side has a frozen up evaporator. Heater and defrost thermostat are good thermistor seems good. Suspecting adaptive defrost control board. This model is not electronic touch control, it has the mechanical dials to set fresh food and freezer settings, my question is is there a way to put this fridge in a forced defrost ?. Any advise would be much appreciated. Also wondering if you have encountered any bad solder joints on these boards?
Thank you once again for your help. Any advise is appreciated.
Checked defrost thermostat and defrost heaters all are good, thermistor on evaporator inlet seems good.

Hi. I have attached the service manual for you. I would start by replacing the sensor even though it tested good. I find the sensor to be the issue and not the board. To force a defrost unplug the unit and place a jumper wire between Line and Defrost at the 3 pin connector on the control board. It should say LINE and DEFR on the board at these terminal. Then plug back in and as long as your heater and Defrost t-stat are good the heater will come on.
