I have a customer who is getting grey ice from her ice maker. Water out of the dispenser is clear. Filter was changed last week in her attempt to correct this issue.
The ice I have seen is a cloudy grey in color. It almost looks like someone added metal dust from a grinder to the water and stirred it up.
Because the water from the dispenser is clear and the filter was just changed, I am suspecting the ice maker mold and will replace the ice maker.. Any suggestion?
Check and test water line, water dispenser.

Water filters are charcoal activated and when changed either 2 gallons of water must be flushed through dispenser, or you may get grey and/or cloudy ice cubes. I would be sure it is flushed properly, then inspect ice maker for build up of residue in cube mold and also look carefully at water reservoir for residue build up.
