The customer had me listen when they called me and it does sound like a pump could be loud, but what else would cause the clanging?

My best guess without you being in front of it, would be possible debris in pump, and most likely loose change. That metal on metal when in a drain or spin will sound a lot worse than it is. Possibly in need of a new pump as well but won’t know for sure til you physically check it. Good luck!
