I put my temperature probe into the fridge, it read 53*. The freezer was 19*. Opened the back to check the compressor. It ran hotter than normal to the touch. Everything was working. This is the first time that I worked on an Electrolux appliance.
Could it be the inverter?
Checked temperatures, compressor, condenser. Everything is running. But the temps are high.

Hello, first thing to check is the frost pattern on the evaporator, if you are only getting a partial frost pattern that will cause this issue, i bet that is the issue. If the frost pattern is not covering the whole evaporator you will need to tap into the sealed system to see if it is because of low charge or if you have a restriction. In either case if you are not trained and certified in sealed system repairs you will need to find someone who is. With the compressor running warmer than normal odds are it is never getting to the correct temp because of a sealed system issue. hope this helps you out.

Thanks. I am HVAC/R certified. However, I have only worked and charged house units. I have never done anything with a fridge compressor. Plus, I don’t have the evac tools, that are needed to tap into the compressor line. I really don’t want to get into the expense of it all. And I was told by my ” instructor ” that compressor work is not a guaranteed service. The lines are so small, to find a leak is next to impossible. So, I guess, I’ll have to let someone else do this call. At least for now?
