Why won’t the service mode work? Is there a “trick” to it? Could a thermister cause this? If so which one and where is it located.
Any ideas? I watched the videos on the service mode and seems I am doing it correct.
I attempted to put it in diagnostic mode but it would not work. I set the control in low temperature first; pressed the sw 1 and door switch for 5 seconds and it would not let me test it. I tried it several times. So I replaced the control and it still will not go into service mode. There is not manual with specification for the thermisters.

Hello
See the diagnostic technician manual link below. We have not had any issues putting this unit into the diagnostic mode. If the freezer section is maintains normal temperature. It sounds like you may have a damper assembly issue if its freezing in the fresh food section. Matt Ace technician

I don’t see a damper assembly on the wiring diagram. Where is it located?

It looks like the damper is not electronic on this unit. I have ran into a lot of these units freezing food in the ff section. make sure food is not in the direct path of the air flow on the top shelf. this will cause food to freezer. Adjust the temp setting to the lowest setting. There was a service pointer on these units to replace the control to an updated one to correct this, but it did not show up for your model. IF food continues to freeze you could replace the thermistor and control. This could also be early stages of a refrigerant leak. How are temps in the freezer?

The temperature in the FF section was 29 and the compressor and fans were still running. I changed the control and it just will not go into the diagnostic mode so I can perform the diagnostic tests . I didn’t see any adjustment for the damper. The unit was set for the lowest possible on the electronic control. I see there are three thermistors in this but the only one i can see on the diagram is the one in the freezer for defrost. Where are the others? Thanks for your help.

I would definitely check the frost pattern on the evaporator to see if you have a sealed system issue going on. Make sure your air flow and seals are good. The thermistor on this should be located in the air duct behind the control board
