Evaporator icing up? Can you give me some information on this unit. I don’t know if the defrost timing circuit is part of the control board? I also have no electrical schematic on this unit. It does have cal rod heater. There are probably 3 different parts that could cause this problem.
Cal rod heater is o.k. and ohms out fine. I think to unit has a temp sensor and I think it has a fuse. Not sure what part it is could be the control board if the de-icing timer is built into the control. the sensor could be bad or the fuse. Need some information on this unit.

Hi. Attached is the service manual for this unit. Yes, there is a fuse and a defrost sensor. The fuse can be checked for continuity. Open or closed. The defrost sensor can be checked for ohms. The manual has a temperature table that shows you how many ohms you should get depending on the temperature at the sensor. The last part in the system is the control board. Was the drain tube clogged? Clogged drain tubes will cause ice/frost build up on these units as well. Did you have ice or water on the freezer floor as well? This is a sign on a clogged drain.
