My evaporator fan motor doesn’t work when installed into the freezer, but when hooked directly to 12 Volts it functions properly.

Your main control board sends 12 Volts to the evaporator fan motor. You need to see if you have 12 volts at the harness coming in. Make sure if you have a door switch you tape it closed as some units have power going through the door switch. If you have no power Check the door switch for continuity. If you have a good switch then you most likely have a bad control board.
