I have a whirlpool washer that the motor isn’t running. I am getting error code F7 E9 which is not on the tech sheet. i seem to have a open winding. I am assuming I just need to change the stator. Has anyone else had this issue?
I haven’t changed any parts yet.

Hi. I have not seem this issue on this unit before. I did check the tech sheet and I do not see that error codes listed either. Did you check the motor? Do you have an open winding? These motors do not go bad very often. IF you have not already, enter into the diagnostic mode and check to see if there are any other error codes in the system and run an auto test cycle to see if it works in diagnostic mode. Let me know what you find.

Hi Brian, It was one of my techs that went out there so I don’t know first hand. When he got there the washer was dead no display, no response. Whirlpool Tech support said to unplug and replug and the drain pump would run for about 10 minutes and reset itself. He ran it through diagnostics. only error code was F7 E9 all F7 error codes have to do with motor overheating. it went through diagnostic did everything except motor wouldn’t run. He tested motor windings at control so either harness is bad or stator is open.

Yes. I agree. If the motor tested open from the control then you have a bad motor or wire harness could have become disconnected.
