I AM TRYING TO ORDER THE HEATING ELEMENT AND THE DIAGRAM SHOWS I HAVE TO BUY THE ENTIRE HOUSING. THE CUSTOMER WAS SHOCKED AT THE PRICE, SO I CALLED A LOCAL SUPPLY HOUSE AND THEY SAID THAT THEY CAN GET THE RESTRING COIL THAT IS MADE BY FRIDGADARE. DOES THIS SOUND CORRECT AND HOW DO YOU MATCH THE ELEMENT? THANKS, TODD FROM NY.

Yes, you can use the restring kit and save a lot of money by using the kit. The MOST important issue when installing the element is to evenly stretch it based on the instructions in the bag. Make sure it is not overstretched as it will become weak and will burn out. The restring kits take longer to install but can save the job if the customer is on a tight budget. Matt Ace technician

THANK YOU MATT, THE CUSTOMER PIICKED UP THE PART. I AM TOLD IT IS AN ELECTROLUX COIL, DOES THAT SOUND RIGHT? I SENT THE PARTS GUY A PICTURE OF THE MOUNTING PORCLIN AND HE SAID IT WAS THE SAME. I AM CONCERNED, AND DO NOT WANT TO CAUSE TROUBLE BY INSALLING THE WRONG PART. THANKS AGAIN

Yes, that does sound correct. A lot of electrolux and GE parts do cross reference. I also found a generic re-string kit for this element. it is p # ER5300622034 which also crossed to an Electrolux part number. I would not be concerned as long as everything matches up correctly.
