GOOD MORNING. I AM TOLD THE DRYER RUNS FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES THEN MAKES A LOUD BUZZING SOUND THEN STOPS THE CYCLE. THE DRYER DOES HEAT DURING THAT TIME. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. ALSO, THE DRYER WASHER STACK IS LOCATED IN A CLOSET IN FRONT OF NEW TILE, IS THIS REPAIR DOABLE WITH OUT MOVING THE UNIT? THANKS, TODD FROM NY.

Hi. It sounds like you have a bad motor. After it shuts down and you try to start the dryer again will it just hum at you? After you let the unit cool down for awhile and then try to start it will it turn on and run again for awhile? If yes, the motor is the issue. These are common symptoms of a motor going out. To replace the motor you should not need to move the unit. This one will be all taken apart from the front. I have attached a repair video on the motor but it is not a stackable unit like yours. THe motor is p# 134196600 . It looks like it is cheaper to get the motor/ blower wheel housing assy together. p# 5303937189 . I would also highly recommend getting the blower wheel too, as the old one may not come off the motor.

THANKS BRIAN. DO YOU THINK I CAN REMOVE AND INSTALL THE NEW MOTOR WITHOUT REMOVING THE DRUM, AS I CAN NOT GET BEHIND THE UNIT TO PUT THE BELT BACK ON THROUGH THE REAR ACCESS PANEL? ALSO, CAN I OHM OUT THE MOTOR TO SEE IF IT IS BAD AND DO YOU HAVE HE OHM CHART? THANKS, TODD FROM NY.
  • No, the drum will need to be removed. You will be able to remove the belt and put it back on from the front. With the motor still working until it overheats, it will still test good more than likely.

HI BRIAN. I DID SPEAK WITH THE CUSTOMER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE DRYER WOULD RUN FOR ABOUT 10 OR 15 MINUTES THEN BUZZ. AT THAT POINT THE DRYER WOULD NOT START AGAIN, UNTIL IT COOLED FOR A VERY LONG TIME. AS YOU TOLD ME IT SEEMS TO BE A BAD MOTOR. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO OTHER THAN REPLACING THE MOTOR? THANKS FOR THE HELP, TODD FROM NY.
