when baking at 400 degrees oven door will lock can’t get food out until it cools down and food burns. It doesn’t do it all the time but most of the time. It’s GE Profile Drop in range. I notice the Fan was making a funny noise and was wondering if this could cause it to get to hot and lock up. The thermostat and control board seem to be working fine.
Thinking about replacing the fan

Hi. It sounds like its getting too hot and the board is sensing this and locking the door like it would in a self clean with high temps. Also, just like self clean it is not unlocking the door until it reads the temp had come back down. It could be getting too hot if the cooling fan motor is not running properly, which it sounds like is the culprit with is making noise. I would check that first. You can also, check the oven temp sensor which should be around 1100 ohms at room temp. After these two items I would be left with the control board. DO you have the tech sheet for the unit? I am unable to find one on this unit. Its usually on the back of the unit or attached to cabinet after you take the bottom drawer out. Are you getting any error codes?

I will have to pull it out from the wall to look for Tech sheet, but the temp sensor would that give a higher reading than what it really is,I could see it giving a lower one but that is what I’m thinking to is the fan It’s making a little noise so it might be blowing less air than it should be and is not keeping it at 400 degree so its locking up . Is that what you think. It’s getting no error code except when it locks it shows that.

The temps sensor at room temperature should read about 1100 ohms plus or minus 10%. So somewhere bergen 1000-1200 ohms or so would be fine. Gain access to the fan and see what is causing the noise and weather or not it’s blowing properly to see if it’s your issue or not.
