I have cleaned it out and looked for obstructions. The allen wrench turns but the disposal still just hums and the turns a small amount until the reset button pops out. This is a Badger disposal.

Dayle, If you did this it sounds like the motor is drawing high amprege. You will need either to rebuild the disposal or replace it. If the disposal is more that 3 years old I would consider replacing it. Matt Ace technician
