Arthur, There definitely could be an obstruction or debris blocking your drain pump, or even something stuck in your chopper/impeller. I’ll attach a video that should be similar to your issue and show how to disassemble your dishwasher and check for any blockages. If everything checks out you may need a new drain pump.
