See the technician manual on the defrost control test mode link below. You are asking how do you check the defrost thermostat and the easiest way to replace it? But you said you replaced replaced the control board, heater and defrost thermostat. Did you mean the temperature control ? Matt Ace technician

I meant the defrost thermistor located at the bottom left side of the evaporator.

Hello You can check resistance with an OHM meter on the thermistor. It will read 2.7k at 77 degrees Fahrenheit or 25 Celsius. We have found proper readings at the thermistor and still had issues. I recommend replacing the thermistor regardless of the reading. They are under $20 , why take a chance.
