Customer reports that the unit has stopped cooling several times, he leaves it unplugged for awhile and when he plugs it back in it works fine and cools appropriately.
When I went for the service call the unit was operating properly, after testing for proper amperage on the compressor, I also unplugged it and removed the overload to test continuity on the windings which were all good. I cleaned the compressor coils and when I plugged the unit back in the compressor and compressor fan did not come back on. Using the control panel I put the unit in forced freeze and the compressor and fan both came on and operated properly.
Since the unit has 3 evaporators and associated defrost and sensor circuits I don’t believe that the unit isn’t calling for cooling. I suspect the control board however there are three boards on the rear under the main control board cover. Are there other tests I should run or can you suggest which board would be causing this issue.
