GOOD MORNING. I HAVE BEEN GETTING CALLS FROM MY LOCAL LAUNDROMAT. CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH COMMERCIAL WASHERS AND DRYERS? I BELIEVE THE WASHERS ARE CONTINENTAL AND THE DRYERS ARE HUEBSH. I DID REPLACE A BROKEN BELT ON THE DRYER, BUT I DO NOT KNOW IF I WENT ABOUT IT PROPERLY. I UNHOOKED THE MOTOR FROM THE REAR AND TOOK OFF THE OUTER BELT AND SNAKED IT OVER THEN REPLACED THE OUTER. THE DRYER TUMBLED, BUT WHEN LOADED WITH CLOTHING IT DID NOT. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. THANKS, TODD FROM NY.

Hello this is Cristian a technician at Ace appliance, If the belt was broken and you replaced it the only thing that I would make sure is that the ribs on the belt are facing the correct way. Most of the time the ribs will face against the drum (to grasp it). Also make sure the belt is looped around the idler (tension-er) pulley correctly, if it is not the drum will rotate without a load but not with a load. If you can find out about which side the belt’s ribs are facing it will help point us in the correct direction.

HI CHRISTIAN. THE BELT I REPLACED WAS ON THE FIRST REDUCTION FROM THE MOTOR PULLEY TO THE LARGER. THIS BELT HAD RIBS, BUT THE OTHER ON THE SECOND REDUCTION DID NOT. THE RIBS WERE FACING THE PULLIES OR IN SO TO SPEAK. AS FOR THE TENSIONER PULLEY, I DID NOT SEE ONE, THE LARGER PULLIES ON BOTH REDUCTIONS SEEMED TO HAVE THEIR OWN SPRING LOAD. I USED A LONG SCREW DRIVER TO RELIEVE TENSION WHEN I INSTALLED THE NEW BELT. I HOPE I AM MAKING SENSE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME, IF YOU WOULD LIKE PLEASE GIVE ME A CALL, AND I AM SURE I COULD EXPLAIN THIS BETTER. TODD 914 447 8446
