Hi. Does this happen when the basket is empty? This can be caused by off balance loads. Check the shocks. They could be broken causing this. I have seen broken shocks for this issue. Also, check for any error codes. I have attached the tech sheet for you. I have seen washers do this as they begin to age. New shocks may help, but not a guarantee.

Can I ask why I would need to look at the error code if its not giving one off? I need to sell the set and a loud banging noise makes it a hard sell.

I would check the shocks first. Then if nothing seems damaged checking the error codes can give us some good information as to what is going on. Even though it may not be giving any errors codes during usage it still could have stored error codes. Some error codes do not come up on certain units, they just get stored. Running a test cycle in diagnostic mode(if one available) can also help us solve the issue. Make sure the unit is level as well.

Ok thanks. I have another samsung just like this one that vibrates in the high spin any thoughts?

I would check the same things out on it. Possibly a bad rear bearing. See if the basket seems loose. Does it seem loud in Spin? Both of these would be signs of a bad bearing.
