Dano960, What is your suction pressure ? Does the compressor shut down ? How long does it run and what does the head pressure go up to ? You could have a restriction or bad TXV.

I had 3 calls on this a/c not cooling in the past 30 days…the 1st time everything was spot on with a 10* sub cool, was using the SuperCool Slide Rule and everything was right on the mark. the 2nd time the compressor was overheated and not working, cooled off compressor restarted everything was spot on with pressures and compressor was drawing 8 amps on all 3 wires and cooling,. a week later another call, not cooling! ac was turned off, hooked up gauges and turned on, again pressures was all good but after 10 to 15 minutes the head pressures stared go up really fast over 500 psi, amps draw was at 14 amps..its a 2 ton and about 2 years old, its a carrier unit inside and outside, never had a problem with it before and no one else has worked on it before me. im thinking the txv but not 100% sure was wanting your advise, Thanks you for your help!
