We smelled burning rubber the last few times we used our washer. Now the agitator spins wildly (out of control) while the drum starts to move, but then both shut down. It seems the machine is trying to start the drain/spin cycle, but can’t. It attempts to start the cycle, but the sequence described above repeats and the machine eventually shuts down. Having repaired this machine a few times in the past, I inspected the belt, which shows no visible signs of damage. With the belt attached, I turned the splutch wheel and I noticed what I would describe as a slip inside the motor.
Please help me figure out what I need to fix this.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Inspected the belt and pullys. I tried to run a diagnostic test, but I am having difficulty understanding the codes.

This could be the splutch itself or the shifter actuator. You have to be able to determine the error code by the technician diagnostic and troubleshooting service manual we have attached. It explains the error codes and the corrective procedures.
