THANK YOU BRIAN. I COULD NOT FIND A WAY TO PUT THE ICE MAKER IN A TEST CYCLE. IF I PUT 110 VOLTS ON EACH SOLINOID AND BLOW THROUGH THEM, WOULD THAT BE A WAY OF TESTING THEM? ALSO, I HAVE THE ICE MAKER IN FRONT OF ME, CAN I TEST THAT SOMEHOW?
  • You could apply 120 room the valves to see if water flows through. You can also blow through the water line to thensure ice maker to see if it’s cloged. The way I start a cycle on these ice makers is to pull gently on the rakes, the gears will start to move, and once it gets to a certain point it will start going through the cycle. This method is not recommended to start a cycle, but if your careful to not break the rakes it will work fine. For this symptom there is not a good way to test the ice maker will out having it hooked up to power.

HI BRIAN, I HOOKED UP 110 V TO ALL THE SOLINOIDS AND THEY EACH ALLOWED AIR TO PASS THROUGH. I WILL GO BACK TO THE FRIDGE AND BLOW THROUGH THE OTHER LINES. IF THEY ARE NOT OBSTUCTED, IS IT SAFE TO SAFE TO SAY THE ICE MAKER IS NOT SENDING OUT 110 TO THE ICE MAKER SOLINOID? THE ICE MAKER DID HAVE POWER TO MOVE THE RAKE.
  • Yes I would say at that point it sounds like it is a faulty ice maker as long as you have water going to the inlet valve.

GOOD MORNING BRIAN. I WENT BACK TO THE FRIDGE AND TURNED THE RAKE AND THE ICE MAKER STARTED TO CYCLE. I DID GET 110 V TO THE ICE MAKER SOLINOID FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS. I ALSO BLEW THROUGH THE LINES AND THE LINE TO THE ICE MACHINE WAS VERY CLEAR, BUT THE OTHERS WERE CLEAR BUT IT TOOK MORE AIR PRESSURE TO MOVE THE RESIDUAL WATER THROUGH THE LINES. I BELIEVE THAT WOULD BE CAUSED BY THE FILTER. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT, THANKS.
  • Well if you cycled the ice maker and it sent 120v to the inlet valve, the ice maker is working correctly. Did you have water turned when u cycled the ice maker? Did the ice maker fill? Check that you have water to the inlet valve. If we have good water pressure up to the inlet valve and we apply 120 to the valve and we get no water coming through, we have a bad inlet valve. If you can manually cycle the ice maker and it fills, but will not cycle on its own, we have a bad ice maker.

GOOD MORNING BRIAN. I WENT BACK AND PUT EVERYTHING BACK TOGETHER AND PUSHED THE RAKE TO START THE CYCLE. IT STARTED TO PRODUCE ICE AND HAS BEEN WORKING FINE EVERY SINCE. I THINK MY DIAGNOSTICS WERE DONE OUT OF ORDER. I THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR TIME AND INFO, TODD FROM NY.
  • Awesome! Good to hear it is working. Your welcome!
