I noticed after 14 hours without going in to the fridge that the temp is 40 degrees. I am leaning towards the defrost issue & will check shortly. Any other thoughts at this time?
  • Has the frige been turned off recently for an extended period of time? That Is good temp for the frige. Whats the temp in the freezer?
  • The average refrigerator temperature on the middle setting should range from 38-42 degrees. The 40 degree temperature is well withing the normal range.

The fridge is in constant use for the past 5 years, the temp is set to the coldest. I am defrosting the freezer as we speak to see if that is the issue. If so, then I guess I replace the motherboard.
  • Please let us know what you find . We like to know what final repair was and if it did fix the issue. Thanks Matt Ace technician

First step: get an accurate thermometer. Temp was reading 38 degrees but the milk could be used for a block of ice. : / All seems to working correctly at this point. I suspect it will be the control board/motherboard, so I am going to see if I can reproduce the problem (auto-defrost not working). If so, then it is time to get a new control board.
