Use Zip Ties to Secure Chopsticks from Scattering in Your Dishwasher

Yum. Wasn’t that Thai dish ah-mazing? The only thing now is cleaning those chopsticks. Perhaps it’s a deterrent for some to use chopsticks since tossing ‘em in the dishwasher always leads to a scattered annoyance. The thin nature of the sticks inevitably falls through the silverware basket, and they’re so light that water pressure flings the things everywhere. Needless to say, we found a modest, yet brilliant hack that will help keep these utensils stay where they should be. Instructables user wilgubeast shares a nifty tip to keep your chopsticks in place on the top rack of your dishwasher. Super quick and easy, simply attach three zip ties across two horizontal wires on your dishwasher rack. According to wilgubeast, the zip ties hold the chopsticks in place, and he is able to slide in six at a time. Not to mention, the ties won’t interfere when you go to load up your cups or dishes. Even looking at the picture above, the zip ties blend in quite nicely—no eyesores for us. So the next time you increase the authentic-ness of your dish with some chopsticks, you no longer have the dreaded cleaning hassle of keeping those sticks in place.
