Have you ever cleaned out your desk at work, and wondered what you could possibly do with all of those left over supplies? Look no further, for a video post on Facebook has gone viral with instructions on how to convert a few extra pencils into a crossbow!
Using only 4 pencils, 5 rubber bands, a couple pieces of scotch tape, and a bic pen…. You can turn your own personal office into a fun-filled war zone!
Getting started, lay 2 pencils vertically on a flat surface. Using 2 medium-thick rubber bands, tie both ends together. Once you have completed this step, it is time to move on to the next phase.
Lay two more pencils, on top of the two pencils placed prior, horizontally. Having done so, use a medium-thick rubber band and tie the tip ends together. For the eraser end, use 2 pieces of scotch tape. With a regular rubber band, tie the four pencils together where they cross. The pencils should be fastened tight to each other. You have now completed the 2nd phase.
For the 3rd phase, using a pocket knife or other effective sharp blade, you must disassemble the pen. First, cut the head off of the cap so that it is an open hole. Then, pry the pen tip cover off so that the ink tube comes out. The inner ink piece will serve as the arrow.
Take the cut cap, and tape it to the pencil tip end of the cross bow. The stem of the cap should be tucked under the center rubber band that fastens the 4 pencils. Taking your 5th rubber band, stretch the band to the crevices between each end of the vertical pencils. Once the band is secure, grasp it firmly and draw back to place your arrow on the bow.
Optionally, you can tape a spring clip to the rear end so that you do not have to hold the rubber band back when you draw.
