Your refrigerator is one of the most highly used appliances in your home. It is also one of the most important appliances as what you keep in it goes into your body. Keeping your refrigerator clean requires some elbow grease but it is important to make sure your food remains fresh.
There are various solutions for cleaning the inside of your refrigerator. Try using a solution of hot water and baking soda or combine one gallon of hot water, 1 cup clear ammonia, 1/2 cup vinegar and 1/4 cup of baking soda.
For tough stains use toothpaste as it as an abrasive quality to it which helps remove the stains.
Whatever solution you use clean every surface of the interior; trays, vegetable drawers, and gaskets. Vegetable drawers may be the most germ infested place in your home so make sure you remove them and clean them thoroughly.
Cleaning your freezer may not have to be done as often as your refrigerator but it is also important. The cold temperature does make it hard for microbes to live but some germs can persist and contaminate your food. Use the same solution you use in the refrigerator. Keeping your refrigerator and freezer clean will help keep your food fresh longer.
