Uh oh, did you accidentally leave your bread’s plastic bag too close to your toaster oven, again? Tracy Kaplan from CHOW Tips gives a simple method to peel off melted plastic; dab a bit of nail polish remover on a cloth and rub it over the affected area. The plastic comes right off. Then, wipe down the area with soap and water, and you’re good to go. Let’s face it, your toaster or toaster oven is bound to get dirty over time—it’s inevitable. Though it may not seem like a big deal when a few crumbs fall off a piece of bread, this accumulation can lead to a fire hazard; so, it is important to clean out your toaster oven periodically. In this CHOW Tip video (below), Tracy shares good advice on how to clean up your toaster oven. As always, make sure it’s unplugged before you do any of the following stuff. Simply remove trays, and wipe them down with soap and water. You can even turn your small, kitchen appliance upside down over the sink, and shake out some of those crumbs. Then, if you really need to reach the nooks and crannies, you can use a handheld vacuum cleaner or attachment to suck up food debris in those tight spaces. Tracy also mentions using a can of compressed air to dislodge any stubborn food bits. Go ahead and wipe down the interior of your toaster oven with a damp sponge, and shine the glass with some glass cleaner.
