Microwave a Banana Boat in its Peel for a Delicious Snack

Bananas are the best snacks ever—especially when they’re cooked. They’re extra sweet, creamy, and just downright amazing. Did you know you could microwave a banana boat, right in its peel? It’s the first time I’ve ever heard of it, but goodness, if this isn’t the most perfect snack for the office, home, or wherever, I don’t know what is. The best part of all? You get to add in yummy fillings right in the peel, so the ooey, gooey goodness melts right in together with the banana after you nuke it.

To begin, start with a ripe banana (you know, when it’s just showing its cheetah spots). Run your knife from the top to the bottom of the banana to open up the peel. It’s best to do this on the inside curve, and use your hands to open it up.

Then, it’s time to add in your toppings right inside the banana. You can go for peanut butter, chocolate chips, nuts, and really anything you want. Your toppings are super easy to bring with you in containers for just the perfect snack.

Next, it’s time to nuke your concoction. Pop your banana boat on a microwave safe plate and cook in 30-second increments. The banana peel will turn black and your toppings will melt. Usually two-three 30-second increments will do the trick.

What you’ll end up with is a mushy banana (that I may add is just utterly delicious), with your melted toppings for a yummy treat. It’s an easy way for a quick snack that does have a health factor depending on your toppings. Grab a spoon and dig in to get the filling right out.
