Apple's iPhone is a feat of engineering, an industrial designed masterpiece. However it can be frustrating when the dreaded "This accessory may not be supported", message, shows up when you plug in your device to charge.
This message is often displayed even with original Apple cables. So what gives? You've tried jiggling the cable, even tried placing books beneath it to ensure a good connection. Believe it or not, it could be a simple software solution.
A simple trick is to reboot IOS by holding down the power button and home key for until you see the apple logo. This will reboot your phone and clear any bugs in memory, resetting your phone.
If that didn't work, try this...
Simply take a toothbrush or other small brush and dislodge any particles or lint in the charging port itself. This should be done every month or so for best results. You be surprised how often this fixes the problem, it’s amazing just how much lint can get jammed in there.
If all else fails, of course, it could be the cable itself. Check for damage like frayed ends, or simply splurge on better quality cables.
